Humble dirge;
Black refrain,
Resounding solemn
Through sheets of rain,
Up
From swells
Of aching hearts
Through crowds of us…
Regretful, depart.
And I am alone,
No hand to clasp,
Not even a whisper
Within my grasp.
Down
A tide laps
Somber throngs.
Unwilling, unhappy,
We move along.
Grim departing
Sinking low,
As does my weary,
Woeful soul.
And within
The pyre light there lies,
A memory,
Some death: some life
A moving fear,
A wounding knife,
And man evolves…
Pain’s a friend
Rewriting lives,
From start to end

Whoaaa, this was so deep and emotional! Brilliant use of imageries! I loved this so much!
Wow very creative 👏😊
I like the pace and flow. It is weighty but with room to breathe.
I love the way your words flow together, and the imagery is so clear! Beautiful work!
