Directions for Heaven
Directions for Heaven
Heaven lies behind us
Hell waits in the potential ahead
Living a purgatory life
Our shot at heaven
in the balance
The whole weight of the earth
Hanging
By a 50/50 thread
Slowly creeping
towards our ends
Turns out the demons and darkness
Not as metaphorical as they first appeared
Emptiness dressed up as people
Walking mockeries in bodies commandeered
Massive energies of spirits
Trapped in systematic schemes
Minuscule bits of emptiness
Spreading faster than disease
Walking away feels too simple
Naked and revealed
but it is the complication
that so easily
Keeps our souls concealed
An emptiness so foreign,
Unwelcome guest fell to earth
Disguised themselves inside us
We hear it whispering from birth
Slowly feeding on the energy
that each of our souls preserve
Our existence started in heaven
It's not a place we might go
It's an old existence
That our souls already know
A shared memory
amongst all true souls
This purgatory only exists
as a manipulative mental hold
If we want to get to heaven
Simply turn around
It's laying in pieces
Waiting for us,
the Caretaker's hands
We created a need for balance
We were never meant to have control
The world functioned perfectly
Before our self-appointed roles
Heaven must be rebuilt
Or we'll sit by and watch it burn
We will only have our heaven
When we intentionally bring its return.
