A Poem To Behold

By Samuel FowlerPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Isn’t it enough, to see us as we are?

Why do we have to search for something we long for!

It’s all right here, yet we’re chasing our tails!

As though we’re a dog whom has been let off their lead!

Instead why don’t we just accept our own selves,

As though we’re enough without any bells!

Let them ring but I cannot hear anything,

For my interest lies elsewhere, not in any loud sounds!

Instead it’s the silence that we all long for,

Yet because we’re all blinded all we want is the candy!

So temporary, a sugar rush!

Let the colours mix in until it turns brown!

For once it’s been done we’ll appear as a toad,

To others whom don’t understand!

Yet to us the brown that has settled,

Is not brown at all, it’s all Gold!

The rainbow has shown us the pot that we’ve thought,

Was a result of the colours bleeding together!

Yet no colours have there ever been,

Instead they’re just our thoughts that colour our mind’s!

For they appear so rich, as though we all want them,

But upon tasting their nectar our mouths all turn sour!

Disgusting how could we have been so fooled!

Spit it out, it’s no good for you!

Looks can be deceiving as we’ve just all found,

So give up the chase of the rainbow and now rest!

Let the brown appear and wait till it clears!

For beyond it is Light, the reflection of tears!

That we’re now crying for we’ve never seen,

Ourselves so pure and empty, Pristine!

Let go of it all, for there’s nothing to carry,

Instead just sit here, you’ll feel it all NOW!
