Dig It!
your mother’s grave
Brenda Chenowith said it,
way back in episode three of
Six Feet Under,
“And now you're gonna read that book and think that you know me. Well, you know what? You don't.”
Who needs a whole book?
A month’s worth
of stolen emails is enough
to provoke a plot for me,
volunteer gravediggers
blame me for the blisters
from shoveling furiously
without gloves, one month
sufficient to eradicate
twenty-seven years of
sacrifice, not to mention
the house, the cars (totaled), the jail bail,
rehab
She who didn’t show
broke the ground,
portrayed herself murdered
to justify
abusing my daughter
to gain her support,
putting her to work at
metaphorical matricide.
