Diamonds in her eyes

A stone that makes promises

Like death do us part

With sickness and health

These were promises which were given on the day we were wed.

Me in my beautiful gown

Him in his tux

Making promises to one another

As we look each other in the eyes

Oh how young and naïve we once were

He slips the ice stone onto my hand

Then everything changes

No more nice guy

He becomes cold

Manipulative

This is not the man I once knew and loved so deeply

He’s become a stranger who came out of no where

I become scared and weak

I look down at my weaken hand with that diamond staring me in my eyes looking back at me to tell me it’s going to be okay

Years go by nothing has changed until I finally say

I take this ring and get my life back

For I will not let this diamond look into my eyes.
