I know the devil personally
not that we are friends
He sneaks into the mouths of those
who call themselves my friends
She wants to trigger the worst of me
the needles in my skin
Her words they creep into my mind
I try not to let him in
I'm harsher than before
her sly sticky cry
Pitted against me
with evil eyes
If I asked her why she hated me
she would go and twist my wordswhy do you want to make me hate myself
He plays with unsaid intent
words that don't fit together
now live in my head
if this whole thing is transactional
I'd rather play somewhere else
But she digs in
Sinister in his eyes
darkness clouded mind
Why do I feel this heat inside, clawing at my chest
She picks up a new line
an act of delusion
he knows exactly what he says
read between the lines
And I'm just to forget
(it's not what you said)
Malicious intent
bleeds out her mouth
pretends he doesn't know
what I'm talking about
I see through you now
A mistake she was willing to make
to ensure I lose control
He hides in jaded teeth
envy kisses my sweet lips
I huff and take the crease
Stepping back
I'm on my own
no more here to be seen
guilt sits in my seat
And she pretends that she's asleep
Mind cursed with membrance
I shake the devil off
she can take him back with her
he's not mine to scoff
Out of the darkness scrams
Fire fills the guise
hot fuming liquid
leaks from her disguise
frozen in my feet
fidgeting with fear
what is it I'm looking for
(It's not what you said)
Poison pushed up in my face
drink it you fucking disgrace
am I too embarrassing
it's just a test
cynical criticism doesn't skip a beat
(It's not what you said)
Clarity
(It's not what you said)
Your words can't hurt me
(It's not what you said)
It's what you insinuated
Unsaid gossip
actions obnoxious
Read between the lines
