Detective Brown was called to the stand,

To give evidence, in the trial of a man,

A mob boss, accused of running an empire,

An underground world, of crime and fire,

She took the stand, with her monocle in place,

Ready to give, her evidence with grace,

She spoke of meetings, and coded talk,

Of deals made, in the dead of night, as she walked,

The defence, tried to trip her up,

But Detective Brown, was never out of luck,

She held her own, and spoke with pride,

Of the evidence, she had gathered, side by side,

The courtroom, was filled with a hush,

As the judge, read out the verdict with a rush,

But Detective Brown, couldn't help but wonder,

If the mob boss, was truly asunder.
