Detective Brown was called by her dear friend,

To a country cottage, on which, her friend's fate would depend,

A murder had occurred, in the night so still,

And her friend's friend, was found on the windowsill,

Detective Brown arrived, with her monocle in hand,

Ready to inspect, the cottage so grand,

She interviewed the maid, and the gardener too,

But no one had seen, or had a clue,

She searched the rooms, and the garden ground,

But the killer's trail, could not be found,

The villagers whispered, of a ghostly plight,

But Detective Brown knew, it was a clever plight,

She couldn't shake off the feeling,

That the killer was still out there reeling,

But the case was closed, and the killer at large,

Leaving the cottage, with a haunting charge.
