Detective Brown's Confusing Conundrum
L5
Detective Brown was quite unique,
With a monocle that she'd always seek,
To inspect crime scenes, she'd use it with care,
To find clues and solve mysteries rare.
One day a call came in, quite a fuss,
A robbery at a factory, a matter of trust,
She arrived to find the place in a state,
Machines tampered with, the owner irate.
She examined all with her keen eye,
Noting every detail, not letting one fly by,
The office next, where she found a door,
Forced open and a desk that was sore.
This was no ordinary robbery, that was clear,
Someone had covered their tracks, without any fear,
She interviewed the workers, one by one,
But they all were threatened and their tongues undone.
But the detective wouldn't give up so fast,
A clue she found, that was sure to last,
A man fired for embezzlement, seeking revenge,
He was apprehended and put in a pen.
But as the trial came to a close,
Detective Brown felt a strange repose,
For she knew that the man was not alone,
There were others, in shadows, unknown.
She couldn't shake off the feeling of dread,
That someone was watching her, ahead,
The case was solved, yet not completely,
Leaving her confused and incompletely.
The factory owner thanked her with glee,
But for the detective, it was not meant to be,
For the unsolved case would haunt her mind,
And confusion, she couldn't leave behind.
