Destined Departures

In this life, we are destined to depart. Meeting is merely accidental, and parting is inevitable. After all, joy and sorrow, gathering and scattering are common occurrences that no one can stop. Therefore, when this day comes, we must all learn to say goodbye properly. I often tell you: be more accepting of those who leave, and do not always weep. It is not because I have already let go, but because I know that separation is inevitable. Rather than clinging to the past, it is better to be more carefree.

In life, we will meet many people and miss many others. Familiar faces become strangers, and strangers become familiar. All of this helps us better accept the impermanence of life. However, many people are accustomed to lingering in the worlds of others, forgetting that relationships are merely a matter of fate—a cycle of gathering and scattering.

Meeting inherently means parting, and parting also leads to meeting. No matter how beautiful the process, it is all just a formality. All we can do is cherish the moments we share and take good care of ourselves when we part.

Know that all good things must come to an end. When the time is up and the connection is exhausted, we will naturally leave. There is no choice, and we cannot change it. If you can, cherish the memories you shared and say goodbye. If you cannot, then remain silent and say farewell.

Life is like flowing water, passing by quickly. Meetings and partings are predetermined, and no one can control them. To have fewer regrets, simply remember your initial intentions when you meet someone, and remember your initial aspirations when you part. Stay true to yourself.
