Despite the darkness,
I crack into being
each morning in soft pink.
My past is a mouthful
of precious, cream stones.
The future is a fountain
of mosaics. I soak my stories
in the rippling pool.
I leak out of this world
from time to time.
Seeping into deep, dark spaces
I am overcome with blues.
What has yet to be
is in constant flow,
becoming what was.
Gratitude,
like green algae grows
over my lessons.
I am pulled back into being.
I dawn and stream
into what could be.
To spite the darkness,
I become the light.
