Beckoned home by dawn’s light, the valley lost in a shadow.
Alone I wander, calling out your name, but the creator came
To take you home.
A whisper on a crimson river, riding an expectation of what we
deserve. Is there nothing the moon hasn’t seen?
Always two steps behind, perhaps posed to fall.
I know the higher we fly,
Mercy will call your name.
The marbling of the sky intertwined with peace.
Honoring a journey you walked alone.
I did not yearn though I had known why you left.
There’s only one way through it.
Et Tu, I live despite losing you.

Thinking about potentially losing my estranged dad soon. He is almost 73 and on oxygen. Trying to reconcile with him but keep failing. This is a great way to talk about it
"Is there nothing the moon hasn't seen?" Classy poem, such strength in the face of loss.
