Despair's Embrace: When Hope is Gone

In a world of endless sorrow and pain,

Where hope seems like a lost refrain,

I wander through the desolate night,

With nothing but the darkness as my sight.

The skies above are stormy grey,

Reflecting all the fears I cannot sway,

And every step I take feels so alone,

With nothing but the emptiness to call my own.

No hand to hold, no voice to hear,

No light to guide me out of here,

I am lost in a sea of despair,

With no hope to answer to my every prayer.

I search for something, anything at all,

That can break the spell and end the fall,

But the emptiness echoes back my cries,

Leaving me to face the truth that no one's by my side.

And so I stand here in the dark,

With a heart that aches and a soul that's marked,

For I have lost the hope that once shone bright,

And all that's left is the endless night
