Desire is a Dangerous Dream

The First Hindrance to Peace

By Caitlin RosePublished 2 months ago • 1 min read

Desire is a dangerous type of dream

An ungrateful, consuming sort of feeling

I crave adventures, and knowledge, and lovers,

But it seems, whatever I receive,

Leaves me

Unsatisfied

With the life I lead.

Selfishly, I wonder, will my grass ever look green?

I know how it sounds, my heart's filled with greed.

Yes. Desire's a dangerous thing for me.

Coveting time and inspiration.

Sinfully wishing for artistic perfection.

Lusting after heartfelt affections.

Yet, I have all I could ever need.

Desire is a dangerous type of dream.
