Desaturated
Between the colors of the rainbow
Glittering silver in the sun
Insidious grey in the shade
curses and compliments gilt to a shine
Biting steel waits cold behind the eyes
Not white nor black
Less saturated still
Lurks the murk where truths don't dare
shadows full of doubt stretch over the floor
Mist obscures
Robs clarity from sight
The roiling oceans surface
Hides the depths from the light
An ominous storm's front
Orders you indoors
Find shelter from my fury
Be soaked by my size
The chalky coal still fire full
Too hot to handle
Wanting only for a breath
For the inferno to rise
The ashes of every bridge burnt
Dance on winds of change
With no morose feeling
No melancholy or ennui
It is not for lack of passion
That makes me grey all the same
When the colors have all left
Distinctions lost to fade
The spectrum will have bled
But I will still remain
