Tell me why I feel this way;
I’m lost in words I cannot say.
Nothing's right and nothing’s wrong
Yet bad it has felt all along.
I’m struggling to lift my head
And even more to leave my bed.
My mind’s a jumbled layer of fog
Containing toxic sheets of smog.
My thoughts— my own worst enemy,
The things the public cannot see.
Descending on my own self-worth,
Allowing me to feel so hurt.
Intimidating my confidence,
I settle now for everything less
Than what I want and what I need...
I spiral down with such a speed.
Increasing as I lose my breath,
I finally have nothing left.
No more to see and less to be,
Depression got the best of me.
