I walk this earth lonely but not alone.
The demons speak to my broken mind.
They persistently remind of the need to atone;
Making me want what is not mine.
These demons come from the moments experienced
Throughout my life that form their source.
So the demons themselves become existence
Of the memories of all my discourse.
Some of these demons have names, others do not.
Whether they do or do not matters little,
However their names correlate what
The experience extremes back to the middle.
They represent both the good times and the poor,
And I call them by name just to keep score.
Some of them I know much better than others
Of the which could be called brothers.
Anger, Sorrow, Sour, Hunger, Oblivion, Lust, and Envy,
Are a sample few of the legion that plague me.
It is impossible to appease them all,
So I simply gave up trying.
Befriending these demons was not a choice.
By losing my faith in god and man
Has accelerated this dark marriage.
Into the depths of Hell I descend,
Hand-in-hand with my winged brethren.
The only ones who comforted me
In my darkest times when humans left.
Tell me why that is. Explain it to me!
