Deeply in Loathe

Before you can truly love others, you must love yourself.

By William FrederickPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

Once before the sun would rise

I wiped the tear drops from my eyes

Inside the mirror, whom I despise

I'm deep inside my loathing

The pain inside me grows and twists

The peak of all my self doubt lists

My failures speak antithesis

My loathe is slowly growing

The dark and musky air down there

Would lead a man to pull his hair

No second wind or breath be spared

The growth of loathe consuming

I reach into a bitter root

the thorns would stab me deep in truth

A time confessed in sweetest youth

The loathe is shifting slowly

I recall my mother's words to me

A tale of kindness, symphony

its always lied inside of me

The key to free my loathing

The day begins

And once again

I think of lost and distant friends

The way the river twists and bends

I pack away my groaning

I trudge along the beaten path

The one of fear packed into wrath

And though I may not make it back

I've always loved my loathing
