Deep Green Garden Tops
Seen from Heaven's light
I close my eyes and see deep green garden tops
With light butterflies behind my lids and
I can feel the muses of a century
Wailing in unison
Many moons not in existence now
Forever in the light
It's better
There is great comfort in a nod
Between a feeling and a well-worn shirt
Starlets in the dream
In between the seams of knowing
The streams of muses of tomorrows
Because one day we all get there
But don't hurry the plot of reasoning
Because reason never holds the keeper
of light
Oh, finest night in welcome flight
To free the feet above a thinking heart
A sleep for Mrs. and
A broken heart that cried so hard
To meet the skies so see her
Eternal light now embracing two souls
The students and the muses wail in unison
Dedicated to Ray Robinson, Artist, my teacher, mentor, and friend, and to the loveliest Brenda Robinson. The world doesn't make a class of men like him anymore, a perfect gentleman. In all my years of different studies, there is not a teacher that left a more indelible impression on his students. We adored him. Heartbroken.
