I found her in the cemetery
Her arms were around her knees
chin between her legs
Sitting on a small hill
That overlooked the rows and rows
Of still smooth stones
I didn’t want to disrupt the silence
The silence that would’ve been peaceful
If it weren’t disturbing and death-like
So I slowly sank into the spot near her
And crossed my legs into a pretzel
Looking far into the distance
Were I though her eyes were
She didn’t move
Only the wind ruffled through her hair
As if it nimble fingers across a harp
And the bottom of her lip quivered
I placed an arm over her shoulder
And whispered to the unknown spot in the distance
“Why are you always here?’”
The silence after was even quieter
None of us moved
It felt as if all that were alive was the silent standing stones
Staring back at the two sitting souls
but then an almost voiceless voice spoke softly
and her chin was out of her knees
"Because life is a few days, death lasts forever"

This is so lovely...eerie, haunting, beautiful (not criticizing but there typos in some lines making it hard to fully understand). Loved it!!
