Death Calling

The Man

By VioletPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

This man

Standing in front of me

I know him

And he knows me

This man

His cloak is black

His eyes are hollow

His scythe is sharp and gleaming

This man

He stares deep into my soul

He does not move

Though he unfurls his dark wings

This man

He is not alive

He is not dead

He is not dawn or dusk

This man

Visit as he may

No matter how strong I am

One day he will lead me away

This man

Resonates with us all

He is not intimidated by me

Or anyone

This man

Came to see me

Though I never wanted to gaze upon him

He feels no pity

This man

Came to see me

I know him

And he knows me
