Dear Rain, Please Hurry Up
We’re looking like wrinkled pruned here

Dear Rain, Please Hurry Up
The garden is thirsty, the flowers look tired,
The grass has gone pale and the sunshine’s inspired,
The sky wears a smile but we’re begging for grey,
“Dear rain clouds, please visit us sometime today.”
The birds are still singing, the bees still fly,
But even the clouds seem to hide in the sky,
The sun has been working overtime for too long,
We need a cool shower, a watery song.
The pavements are glowing, the windows are bright,
The heat follows us from morning till night,
The fan is my friend, my cold drink my treasure,
But rain would bring comfort and wonderful pleasure.
So gather your drops and come dancing down,
Bring little puddles all over the town,
Wash every leaf and refresh every tree,
Bring back the sparkle that nature should be.
For summer is lovely, we know that is true,
But even the sunshine needs a rest too,
So sprinkle your magic, let the raindrops appear,
We’ve been waiting patiently, dear rain, come near.
If my words have touched your heart, and you’ve enjoyed my poetry, a small goodwill gesture would be deeply appreciated. Your kindness helps me continue doing what I love. Thank you for reading. 🌹
