Dear Jane,

These past few days have wreaked so much for me in the way of loss and pain. Though I celebrated my daughter Adele’s birthday and much was to be happy for, to be celebrated and enjoyed, as she has made me proud of her studious practice of religion and education, and of her growth in general, there was a tremendous blow.

My dear companion and longtime friend of mine has passed, my dog Pilot, has passed. He was an old dog and had a myriad of health issues and we loved him very much for many years, so this was a huge blow. I have been having severe depression that had overlapped since our separation and now it’s only going worse, and now I fear that I am stuck with this situation in a long term course. I couldn’t write you these past few days as I have been grieving and having physical ailments as well, and things have been hectic and stressful.

I hope you received my last few letters in the post. I hope you are doing well and better than the last letter I had read of your unfair interactions with the false preacher. I hope you have a peaceful and blessed week, and I miss you, as always. You are in my prayers and thoughts, my dear Jane.

Yours faithfully, love,

Edward
