i publish something and

sometimes it's not even

decent writing lol

but

minutes later

there's the notification

that you have commented

on whatever i published

without fail

like clockwork

you're there

with a comment

you show up

willingly

faithfully

positively

cheerfully

reliably

supportive of my writings

even when you may not believe

the same things i do

you show up

and as someone who doesn't

have the time to read a lot

on Vocal

i'm amazed that you show up

for so many people

your comment is you

showing up

to support

i think we all see

commenters jockeying for position

of the Most Profound Comment

but you...

your superpower is

showing up

sometimes the only comment

but you show up to support us all

i get excited when i see the

notification that you've published

because i've been waiting and

in a world where we can be anything

you choose to be kind

and that's worth so much more

i know i speak for others when i say
