Dear Captain America

An Epistolary to former Captain America

Dear Captain America,

Why'd you have to go?

This is a letter,

For I just wanted you to know:

A crazy man has taken your name.

The one who was trusted to wield,

A man with an ego so bright,

Has spilled blood on your shield.

He's killed him your honor;

He's killed him I saw!

At least fifty people

Looked on in awe.

He took the serum.

Thought it was right,

Glitched and twitched,

While his friend was killed right,

Before his eyes,

Before his heart,

Brought more than fire,

And tore everything apart.

I guess though,

The brass did do one thing.

They stripped his title,

And gave it to a man with wings.

Sincerely,

An innocent bystander in the events of "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier"
