Dear Brother

A Poem About Loss

My Dear Brother,

Where could you have gone?

You left one day,

And dare I say,

That you will not return?

Oh, how I miss our talks.

Our endless games of laughter.

I fear the very worst!

Please say it isn't so.

A man came to the door yesterday.

Mom sent me to my room.

I don't know why but I have a sense of gloom.

Mom says that you have left us.

Departed from this world.

I understand now why you never call

I miss you.

My Dear Brother,

Oh, how my heart aches so!

Oh, how I wish to see!

To touch you once again!

To talk endless chatter!

To play silly games!

Oh, My Dear Brother,

Whom I'll never see again.
