Dear ...
After the Parade
After the parade
I ponder
And address
Dear Wednesday,
You are drippy
spitting and spewing drops
and shady flakes of soppy spirit
and I feel just as goopy-gray
Together we hold hands
in the dismal dust
When we hug each other,
we squeeze the sunlight
from our hearts
and the day feels bright again
The sun is always shining
above the clouds.
Dear Lots of Time,
You are beckoning me
Into the abyss of an
energetic transition
Although I don’t know
what the path forward looks like yet,
You will help me stir up creativity
and the prayers
and the visions
When I know what the first step will be
I’ll look back on now
and know
that this was the way
and I accessed you
to the best of my ability
in the present
and also with anticipation of what’s to come
I have tapped you
Dear Incessant Thinking,
You can be crippling for me
I’m healthy
and sane
and beautiful
and gifted
and I don’t know why you offer me a crutch
when I really don’t need one.
I’m walking freely without you.
Dear Growth Mindset,
Nice sprout!
Did you see that?
The colossal question just spewed
from your third eye
and tapped you on the heart
“What is it you want now?”
Oh, that.
Got it.
I am listening.
Dear Regret,
I do not recognize you.
Who are you?
I wouldn’t know.
Dear Falcon,
You say fly in 100%.
Ok.
And I fly in.
I could address many Dears
over time
as they arise
Dear Lonely Moment,
Dear Hard to Get Out of Bed,
Dear Stayed Too Long in An Experience,
Dear Radical Realization,
Dear Obsessive Phone-Checking,
Dear Suppressed Art,
Dear If Only Thought,
Dear What If Thought,
In my hammock swaying
between the pillars
of presence
and imminence
I am essence
before, during and after the parade
