Daylight Savings Time

It's a Fraud!

It was time once again for our clocks to change,

The time they displayed was now all rearranged.

We lost a whole hour,

That clocks did devour.

Our systems at first found it really quite strange.

Moving forward in time is a concept askew,

And something we humans simply can't do.

It defies any logic,

And it's slightly chaotic.

Surely a hoax we all have to live though.

The sun doesn't care, and the moon still will rise,

According to patterns in celestial skies.

To tamper with time

Is a heinous crime,

In spite of the promise that daylight it buys.

How foolish of humans to try to disguise,

Time's passage with mechanical means they devise.

The sun and moon

Are far more in tune,

With circadian systems that within us reside.

For centuries past our temporal time

Was guided by nature's more gentle design:

We rose at first light,

And at dark said good night,

A system that worked and did no one malign.

But where is that hour so callously tossed,

Is it floating in space or really quite quashed?

We won't see it back,

Til the autumn in fact,

When it joins us again in the season of frost.
