Day at the Beach with Friends

One sunny day on the seacoast of childlike innocence and bliss

A group of us gleefully gathered...not wanting this to miss!

Rick rode above making swirls on his aquamarine carpet ride

Watching below, as we hurried to our places, Sandy tried to hide.

She spotted a tree, climbed up and ate loads of chocolate treats.

But no worries, she saved enough for all to indulge into the sweets.

Rick had tried to coax Harper to come up and join the magic ride

But she said, "I'd rather not, thank you...a book is where I abide"

Novel thought for a minute that she might prefer to join her,

But spied Tim exploring for seashells, so she "hollered" out, "Sir!"

Barefoot in the warm sand she ran to meet him, geared for an adventure,

Kicking sand (toenails colored in purple, black, & yellow) for this venture!

Together, it would be better (less chance of going too far and getting lost,)

He thought. Plastic pail and shovel a-tow, off they went, not a dime it cost.

On their way they passed Tom huddled down, yet secretly digging deep...

They noticed he buried assorted tiny plastic toys...that secret they'd keep!

Alexandria, in her green bathing suit vaulted along doing cartwheels.

And each time she came around, they heard girly giggles and squeals.

She had caught the attention of Rachel, also decked out in the color green,

The color made Her pretty red hair accentuated like that of a beach queen!

Speaking of royalty, as Rick gazed down, he spotted Handsome the Poet

Spread out on a yellow towel, not to get his hair wet, wouldn't you know it?

Lana had found just the right spot next to Harper. With her books in tow,

Two scholarly minds, those intellectual thoughts bound to just flow...

Out in the ocean, playing in the waves, were a group of Barbie mermaids

Tiffany in pink, Sara & Dharr in reds, Shirley in blue, their parades.

And speaking of flowing, less we forget CA'Di LUCE in cloak and dagger

She was happy to be there, mysteries safe, but best not to nag her!

Paul Aaron observing each player intently, jotted down notes...

His journal was filling fast with red ink, like blood from a cut throat!

Komal was smiling with her paint brush dipped all in gold

She stroked all the beauty of sunsets onto a canvas so bold!

Vicki looked around at the group, her hand held her scepter.

Her kingdom, sovereign, decked out in electric blue feathers!

Antoni flew by so fast and so swift, just like the roadrunner beep-beep!

Rick, this truly is magic and friendships are something special to keep!
