Dawn Still Rises
A Poem of Hope in Uncertain Times
Dawn still rises
Slowly, stubbornly
As darkness
Tends to descend
At times
It’s to
Much to bare
So much loss
So much pain
A world brought
Together and
Torn apart again.
But there’s hope
And glimmers of light
That still shine
Even as we hear
The pain
In the voice
Of a grieving
Father.
Dawn still rises,
Slowly, stubbornly
Bringing with it
Hope
In a world
To often
Colored
By pain.
Dawn still rises,
Slowly, stubbornly
As masked faces
Move along
Afraid to be
To close
Yet afraid to
Pull away.
Dawn still rises,
Slowly, stubbornly
As a child’s laughter
Pierces the darkness
Bringing with it
A beautiful light.
Dawn still rises,
Slowly, Stubbornly
Piercing the dark
Bringing with it
Light.
