Eyes to open, quick uplift,
Slide and turn, swiftly drift,
Dash and turn, steadfast stride,
Hopeful hearts no longer denied,
“It’s here, it’s here!” The children say,
The presence of Christmas Day,
Snow drifting, sunlight glaring,
Eyes wide open with smiles widening,
Coffee brewing, dogs barking, parents yawning,
Children ecstatic, parents trying to reflect,
Kids shaking, sure suspect,
Oven releasing its pleasant tease,
An aroma of delights for all who please,
The gathering would continuously say,
“Have a merry Christmas Day!”
