Daughter

As she watched her child,

she couldn't help but smile

for she would soon grow up

and play time would soon

be over, for she would move on

Start a new life and soon

have her own family

She hoped and prayed that she

had done right and wanted nothing

more than to protect her baby girl

Danger would come and the world

would soon be against her

All she could do was sit back and watch

for times were hard and money was tight

but she still had faith.

She would not lose hope

she had to remain strong

for beside her was a little girl

with short red hair

and the sweetest smile

her angel was watching
