Darkness Makes Me Feel

As If I Am Flying Through the Night

Earlier tonight, I was on Twitter and noticed a trending term that inspired me.

The term was—Darkness makes me feel—which lead me to write the following poem; a mix of sadness and happiness rolled into indifference.

I hope you enjoy!

Darkness makes me feel,

As if I am flying through the night,

Wings fully spread out,

Adrift through a scene,

Happiness feeling,

A plot thickening in some awful scene.

Darkness makes me feel,

Alive,

Sworn to that darkness,

Blackness,

I see nothing,

I feel nothing,

I am alive,

I am dead,

Sitting alone,

Inside myself,

Darkness makes me feel,

Alive,

Dying inside,

My mind,

A sea of misery,

Life itself,

Is full,

Of nothing,

Words,

Lies,

Memories,

A disease,

Maybe make me,

Believe,

In something,

Truths,

Lies,

Misery.

Darkness makes me feel,

Every day is the same,

To fight,

For every breath I take,

Every is the same,

To fight,

To make my way,

Every day,

Darkness makes me feel,

That I’m alive,

And well,

And maybe free!
