Darkness I Have Become

Alone

By Mercedes ChavezPublished 2 years ago • Updated 2 years ago • 1 min read

Worthless.

Never good enough.

I wish it could have been you.

It's your fault he left you.

Why can't you do anything right?

He's just using you.

You're a fool.

Whore.

I would be embarrassed; if I were you.

Young and dumb.

He doesn't care about you.

I wish I could love you the way you love me.

He chose her over you.

They both did.

Those you love can wound you far deeper than any enemy

I am broken because I loved with no hesitation

My heart is shattered because I loved people who didn't truly care

Empty inside because I gave my all to people who were incapable of reciprocating

Never truly chosen

Only a placeholder until they find who they truly want

Back completely broken from holding the weight of the world on my shoulders

Healing everyone else from their darkness

Now, that darkness has made me its permanent home

I have become that darkness

Left to roam this world...

Alone.
