Dark thoughts, innocent smile

Only if she could...

A woman walks alone at night

Her thoughts are dark, her heart filled with fright

She remembers all the pain and the abuse

Inflicted upon her by the one she used to choose

But now she's had enough, she's had her fill

She dreams of a world where he's gone, where he's killed

Where his presence is no longer felt

And the ones he hurt can finally heal

She knows it's wrong, she knows it's bad

To wish for someone's demise, to be glad

At the thought of them suffering, disappearing without trace

But the pain he caused her, the hurt and disgrace

It's too much to bear, it's too much to take

She can't help but dream of his life at stake

She knows she couldn't do it, couldn't go through

With the act of hurting someone, no matter what they do

But the thought is there, lingering in her mind

As she walks through the darkness, trying to unwind

The turmoil and anger that boils within

She knows she could never give in

For even though he deserves it, even though he caused her pain

She couldn't live with herself, knowing she was to blame

So she walks on, head held high

Hoping for a world where justice is done, where the wrongs are righted, where the truth will never die.
