Dark

I think of death

By Regine Published 5 years ago • 1 min read

Home

Many think of love, warmth, tranquility

I think of death

First the dark, the empty

All the unutilized room

The noises with no explanations

The demons who brush against you when you allow myself to explore

Think of you again

Think of who you really are

Alone in the dark

You’re suddenly not alone

You’re no longer feeling the dark as a chance to die and disappear

But an opportunity to search for endless light, eternal possibilities

Who are you really in the dark?

Who do you want to be?

That is home

Not a specific place in particular

But deciding who you want to be in anywhere

At any place at any given time

Reminding yourself you are bound by nothing

That this dark isn’t death

You’re simply choosing not to see what surrounds you

Open your eyes and see your light

Realize that the dark was never to decimate you

It was only ever a chance for you to be reborn
