Dark

Scary darkness help me get out and away

Dark

The room held shadows close to my skin

Every breath carried weight from old sins

Windows stayed shut through endless rain

My pulse dragged chains through every vein

I heard the floor cry under my feet

Broken prayers burned without heat

Night stood tall beside my bed

Filling my thoughts with silent dread

The mirror showed a face worn thin

A war outside matched one within

Smoke curled slow around my chest

Giving my restless soul no rest

Voices rose from the hollow hall

Waiting to watch another fall

Hands once warm turned hard as stone

Leaving me there to stand alone

I carried scars beneath my coat

Swallowing tears inside my throat

Streetlights died one after one

Leaving no trace of morning sun

My heart grew sharp from years of pain

Storm after storm carved through my brain

Hope stayed buried under dust

Love collapsed from broken trust

I reached for peace through heavy skies

Still felt haunted by empty eyes

Darkness wrapped around my name

Feeding sorrow without shame

Now I walk through ash and flame

Still surviving all the same

Even crushed beneath despair

A spark remains alive somewhere
