Dark

Where does the soul end

And the body begin?

No need to let the light in

For I am comfortable in the shade of my skin.

Are your eyes strong enough

To pierce through me?

Can they behold what burns far beneath?

That which soothes all my demons to sleep

Which is both black and bright

And brings me to life

Banished Angels aren’t the only ones

Who dwell in the deep.

Am I the space where the sun comes to hide?

If so, I shall flood every heavenward sky

With a wave which ignites

A million more suns

I will show you the true meaning

Of dark night poetry!

So is my skin or my soul marked?

Paradise is the same abode for the damned

Illuminate me from beyond this body

And tell me if you dare to finally see

When reflections fall to the ground, breaking

The welcome sound will be earth shattering!

Dusk and dawn will both forever sing

When you’re not afraid to walk in the dark.
