Dangerous Wishes

My eyes get me into trouble, and it's with my own hands and feet do I sin. But, to have them taken away from me is a dangerous wish, I ought not make.

my eyes, i cannot follow

unaware of the trouble they cause,

they follow my heart

unaware of what consequences will fall‐

the torment falls to my mind,

who pays the toll of every taxing endeavor

of each and every of my desire that lay before me

each with its own anguish-

but to have them taken from

is a dangerous wish‐

my feet, i cannot let lead

unknowing of the fire they are in,

they follow my heart

unknowing of what is sure to be lost‐

the scores burned across my mind,

who has every scar counted

and every regret numbered,

not by its own will‐

but to have them taken from me,

is a dangerous wish‐

my desires, i cannot trust

blissfully ignorant of what peril they bring

they follow my heart

amiss in all that it stands

always out of place

where is it now?

what i intend, is not what comes to be,

and all that i try to avoid, finds itself right in front of me‐

where have i been?

where am i now?

i cannot help but to fear what the future hides from me,

but to see into every tomorrow, today,

and have everything stop now,

is a dangerous wish

i ought not make

About the Creator

JM

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
