Dancing with Fire

Ending the Beautiful Deceiver

By Nikki Torino WagnerPublished 9 months ago Updated 9 months ago 1 min read

Twisting brilliant luminance,

I am in awe of your dance.

Rocking side-to-side,

slowly swaying before shashaying

into an intricate tango.

Stretching tall with lashing limbs.

Expanding on exhale.

Dipping low and flowing;

mesmerizing, in glowing molten.

Twirling, intertwining colors creating shapes

as I add more fuel.

Tended in frame.

Ferociously leading.

You feed greedily as sparks pop.

Crackling, escaping the ballroom.

Multiplying; now uncontained.

Joining a prom on dead earth.

Devastatingly melting.

No scoring- just scorching.

Illusion burned to crumbled stone.

Falling ash swirling with the wind.

It whips, chilling my once warm skin.

Threatens your very nature with her breath.

Blowing a long burst.

Dimming your light.

Just a blue pinprick left in the shadows

as my boot stomps down.
