Dancing With Distraction

The Illusion Of Productivity

I’d rather be daydreaming

Dancing thoughts that swirl around,

In the midst of work, they seek to drag me down.

Sights and sounds start to pull me away,

Taking me off to a distant place.

Reality fades as I begin to dip,

Allowing distraction to take its grip.

Caught up in this moment, now I forget,

There are deadlines that must be met.

Illusionary promises on the list, with a pull so strong I can't resist.

On and on, it keeps going and going,

Never-ending, the story seems to keep flowing.
