Dance Like God is Watching

Testify

I would never dare to

Move my body

In the disrespectful

Reserved tipsy way

One might

If you embarrassingly

Pretended

People weren’t watching

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

Every hallowed motion

Must be a swan dive

For the most high

A testimony

Before the angels

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

I am fully committed

To the accurate representation

Of every striking moment

Each puncture wound

Siphoning my spirit

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

Each telling movement

Must strike just as hard

Creating clean lines

And flowing transitions

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

Every staggering step

Every flying leap into a

Controlled crashing roll

All played out in service

To proving the truth of my life

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

An unwavering

Turn-set is the ticket

The answer to

The gavel's snapping

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

If that’s not enough

Maybe a lighter touch

Skimming burrees

Tears flowing freely in silence

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

Arms fluttering

Like the dove

What more could be required

For a soul to take flight?

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

My last trick

Is no trick at all

It has a name

Floor-work

But you could say I crawl

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

On hands and knees

Spread flat

Supine and kicking

Screaming

To the heavens in

Frustration and

Beggardly anger

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

How many times must I call

With full body pleadings

Before my plight is viewed

Heard by the cosmic court

Of heavenly beings

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

I will continue my recital

Daily

Until the performance

Is taken to stage

♡˙⋆☽🩰☾ ⋆˙‎♡

Persistence

My virtue

Verity

My cage
