Damning Day Terzanelle

Syllables of tercets and syllables of quatrain

Lo! Must the wicked watch when they walk this way

Watching all the sinners taught for sins which they must pay

Speechless to elude the fate of their damning day

Hasten to another, they look for comfort late

Ceaseless agony; the demon's empty sate

Watching all the sinners taught for his sins which they must pay

The wicked tremble their dry, brittle bones with a deep

Unknown fear, too much to let the body weep

Ceaseless agony; the demon's empty sate

Irons hot and white are prodded against the fleshy skin

Glares and looks pierce like bits of jagged tin

Unknown fear, too much to let the body weep

Sinners moan 'don't let them see the fear in your heart!'

They close their eyes and pray to their God with them not to part

Glares and looks pierce like bits of jagged tin

Innocence sees sunshine bloomed May, but

Lo! Must the wicked watch when they walk this way

They close their eyes and pray to their God with them not to part

Speechless to elude the fate of their damning day
