Dambo flies no more,
Shies away no more,
Trusts no one
Anymore.
You've got a gun?
He's armed as well.
Now, say your prayer
And go to hell.
Your slow response is your betrayer.

Dambo grew up and learned some truths,
He is no more that naive youth.
Want to survive?
Then grow a tusk,
Or fetch a knife.
Don't let them bask
In your despair, pain, and sorrow.
So fight as if there's no tomorrow!
Between two options—fight or flight,
He chose the first one.
Hold on tight!

If you are anything like me at your age, I know you are rolling your eyes, right now. But give me a second. It’s a little sappy—I’m aware—but I believe that at every point in life, we all have something to contribute. It doesn’t have to be huge. This was a fun read, and I absolutely loved the images.
Wow, this is so good. My inner child hates to see Dambo so jaded, but I love the message here, as encapsulated by the final comic, and the reality of elephants' existence. Great poem, the energy it has is fantastic, and I love your rhyming choices.
