Da Capo
A Neoclassical Sonnet
What do disasters teach us to value?
Consider the culture COVID has made:
Comfort and safety and normalcy new
For them, many would through hot lava wade
Courage is needed to wade through lava
Wisdom to determine if it’s worthwhile;
Courageous hearts need no balaclava
The wise read the “what I do not know” file
Temperance might benefit us as well
As we ought to be passion’s masters
Alas, its slaves dwell in a gloomy Hell
For ageless virtues, an appetite stirs
Instead of aching for dull normalcy
New adventures we should seek eagerly

Normalcy...who needs it. Live it well, for we know not when the bell will toll...open the floodgates and let exploration be the un-normal. Onward and upward.
But what if I like the dull normalcy? 😋😋 Loved your poem!
Yes, we should! Expand those horizons!
