Fleeting Romances

Her apparition

Bled through

The unoccupied aperture,

Set in the door

That separates

Daily thoughts

From dream state.

Mental images

Paint a picture,

Of my frame

Wrapped

In hers,

While we

Sought refuge

In a bed

Of flames.

I held her

So close,

As embers

Delicately

Kissed our skin

And danced amongst

The landscapes

Of our

Carefully chiseled carcasses.

Though no harm

Was caused.

We were

Ultimately consumed

By fervor within.

Together we

Incinerated.

Now,

All that remains is

A pile of

Ash and

A pile of

Bones.

A crowning concoction,

To our impermanent

Adolescent romance.
