A Poem

Why am I always fighting,
always crying,
always pushing myself away?

I’m hiding for today.

But when I return,
it burns—
all the things I threw away.

For what?

To fit in.
To begin.
Starting over
and over again.

Tired of repeating
the same disasters,
the end is coming faster.

Can I heal?
Is this for real?

All I can do is hope
and avoid
the end of the rope.
