The age of reason lies far behind us
Stupidity rules today
The wise men and geniuses have vanished
Replaced by the fool’s arrogant way
The once strong voice of a nation
Now whispers in quite tones
As communities wither and dry up
And our children sit in front of the television alone
When did we become so blind
And lose the path set at our feet
When did we give up on each other
And sound the horn of retreat
The world as we know it is dying
And were the ones consuming it whole
We care nothing for our brothers
Only about achieving individual goals
Lost has become love
And in its stead feasters greed
But love is what life is about
And this is why I bleed
I bleed, to make a difference
I rise to take a stand
I hold true to my beliefs
And remember when America was the promised land
