They were jealous of our love, so they made me a beast

A monster in the eyes of the one I loved most

She did not trust me; what else could I do but

Leave her when she exposed my one secret

If she had only had faith in me

And not in sisters bent on her

Destruction then maybe we

Could have avoided turmoil

But all love faces such

Obstacles at least

Once in their time

Or so my

Mother
