I will sprinkle your wounds with sugar and mint leaves....

perched lips wait for the dampness of caramel rain

slide of the tongue lost amongst the flood

Consumed in a darkened paradise

can't grasp the lighted path

not worth the repair, the damage done

Vacant eyes stare as the steam arises

surreptitiously dancing a memoir of grief

Porcelain fingers echo the stirring of the spoon

sprinkle the sugar and drop the mint against the rush

mixing and drowning reflections of a broken me

swallow this drug of "you"

Each sip easier after the first,

Diamond drips start to dry

Slight smile appears as day begins to arise

A sprinkle of sugar and a pinch of mint…..

heartbreak
